Michael J. Fleck is a Chicago-area actor who was born and raised in Illinois. His acting career started at Westmont High School, where he appeared in a number of plays and musicals. He also was a principal dancer. He was a member of the football team, wrestling and tennis teams as well. He attended the University of Illinois, Champaign-Urbana, receiving a B.S. in Chemistry. He spent a few years as an environmental chemist, co-authoring some research articles and receiving two U.S. Patents for high-tech inventions in water and air purification. He then went to Law School at Chicago-Kent and is a practicing attorney in state and Federal Court. Is a licensed attorney in Illinois, Federal Court, Federal Courts of Appeal and the U.S. Supreme Court. Was a research chemist and has two U.S. Patents - one for a high tech carbon monoxide filter and another for a portable advanced water treatment device. Was twice elected to public office - elected to local Library District and served as President; also elected to local School Board. Wrote a screen play around 2002 and submitted it to the Tribeca Film Festival and joined the Writer's Guild of America-West. In his own words, he thought it was "great and ground-breaking". He read it one year later and wondered why he even submitted it, but was glad to have tried the experience, gaining more appreciation for people with this talent and skill.
